  53.                       README FOR BTRIEVE v5.00 PATCHES
  54.  
  55. This README file of BTR500.EXE accompanies the patches for Btrieve version
  56. 5.0. The patches are for DOS, OS/2, NLM and VAP environments.  Included are
  57. patches for Bconsole and the OS/2 version of Butil.
  58.  
  59. This set of patches contains batch files to correct all the known problems
  60. in Btrieve version 5.0.  To install the patches follow these steps:
  61.  
  62. 1. Copy all the files to the directory on your system that contains the
  63. file(s) to be patched and make this the default directory.

  68. * NOTE: Make sure that you are patching the original (unpatched) released
  69. version of the software.  Patching a patched version may cause
  70. unpredictable errors.

  74. 2. Make sure that DEBUG.COM is available on the system. (DEBUG.COM can be
  75. found on your DOS diskettes)

  77. 3. Run the batch file(s) relevant to your situation:

  79.    fix500v.bat  :corrects the VAP version(BSERVER) of Btrieve

  81.    fix500n.bat  :corrects the DOS 3.1 Network version of Btrieve

  83.    fix500s.bat  :corrects the Single User version of Btrieve

  85.    fix500o.bat  :corrects the OS/2 version of Btrieve

  87.    fix500br.bat :corrects Brequest.exe
  88.  
  89.    fixbcon.bat  :corrects Bconsole.exe
  90.  
  91.    fixu500o.bat :corrects the OS\2 version of Butil

  93. * Note: DEBUG.COM may cause your system to hang if you have DOSEDIT.COM
  94. (keyboard enhancer) loaded in memory.

  97. Bugs.500 is the listing of the problems that will be fixed by applying the
  98. above patch files as well as a couple of patches that are optional so
  99. please read the document. At the beginning of each problem description
  100. there is a listing in which version(s) a bug is relevant.
